navigate city and FEMA requirements with confidence.
Let us handle the compliance paperwork so you can keep your project moving forward without delays. At SETEI, we offer a full range of documentation services to help ensure your project complies with all local and FEMA requirements:
RES-CHECK REPORTS
REScheck is a software tool and report used to verify that new homes, additions, or renovations meet the energy efficiency standards required by the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) or applicable local codes. Most building departments require a REScheck report with permit applications to confirm your residential project satisfies minimum energy performance criteria.
COM-CHECK REPORTS
COMcheck is the commercial counterpart to REScheck and is used for commercial buildings and high-rise residential projects. This report demonstrates that your building’s envelope, lighting, and HVAC systems comply with the relevant energy codes adopted by your city or state. Building officials often require COMcheck documentation before issuing construction permits for non-residential projects.
A-ZONE Floodplain Documents
“A-Zone” classifications are FEMA-designated flood areas that are susceptible to flooding but not to wave action—common near rivers, lakes, and some coastal locations. If your project is in an A-Zone, you will need engineering documentation and elevation certificates to prove the structure is properly raised and constructed to minimize flood risks, which is important for code compliance and obtaining insurance.
V-ZONE Floodplain Documents
“V-Zone” areas are coastal regions identified by FEMA as being at risk for high-velocity waves and severe flood hazards. Construction in these zones demands more rigorous engineering documentation to verify compliance with both FEMA and local requirements for elevation, foundation design, and structural strength against wave forces. Accurate V-Zone paperwork is essential for permit approval and necessary for qualifying for flood insurance.
BREAKAWAY WALL LETTERS
Breakaway wall letters certify that walls built beneath elevated structures in coastal flood zones (especially V-Zones) are engineered to give way during strong waves without compromising the building’s overall stability. These certifications are required by city officials and FEMA to ensure your project follows floodplain management rules and keeps people and property safe.
